The association’s success on tax reform has led to additional opportunities to highlight the industry’s recent growth and impact on the economy.

Secured inclusion of a one-year extension of the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act (CBMTRA)
This was included in the end of year appropriations omnibus package (P.L. 116-94), which was the BA’s number one legislative priority.
400 cosponsors in the House and Senate
The CBMTRA has over 400 cosponsors in the 116thCongress, House (332), Senate (73), including 60+ Freshman Members of the House.
Helped raise the profile of the industry association by supporting the BA’s legislative fly-in day.
Secured opportunity for a member of the Brewers Association to testify before the House Small Business Committee on the impact of the tax reform bill and the impact of the government shutdown of 2019.
Created 15,000 additional jobs in 2018
Secured two-year provision of the Craft Beverage Modernization Act included in the Tax Reform and Jobs Act of 2017.
The legislation cut excise tax on small brewers in half in the Tax Cut and Job Creation Act of 2017, resulting in windfall for the brewing industry and creating 15,000 additional jobs in 2018.
Accumulated 359 cosponsors for CBMTRA in 115thCongress – House (303), Senate (56).
Worked with staff on the House Ways and Means Committee, the Senate Finance Committee, and House and Senate Leadership to ensure the provision was included in the broader agreement.
XXX members of a bipartisan caucus
Assisted in adding new Members to the Small Brewers Caucus, which is one the largest bicameral, bipartisan caucus in Congress boasting XXX members.
Secured inclusion of $2.6 million to fund research on hop diseases in the 2018 Farm Bill.
