Resulting big moments

Secured passage of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization and highlighted burdensome regulations

Prevented onerous consumer disclosure requirements from being included in the FAA bill that would have made business more difficult for the industry’s small businesses.

Focused the Administration on fixing and securing the introduction of bipartisan legislation to correct a burdensome Department of Labor (DOL) regulation that hampered small travel agencies.

Obtained specific access for travel advisors to additional recovery funds in the legislative text of COVID-19 recovery bills.

Filed petition for rulemaking with DOL’s Wage & Hour Division, secured bi-partisan introduction legislation to force fix, and secured bi-partisan letter campaigns from Congressional supporters to DOL.

Positively Impacted Industry Perspective on Capitol Hill and in the Administration

Raised ASTA’s profile and provided political guidance for their political action committee.

Planned and executed annual industry legislative fly-in, including 150+ travel advisors from across the country. 

Made introduction to Leadership, membership, and staff of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and Senate Commerce, Science, & Transportation Committee, the House Education and Labor Committee and Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee, the bi-partisan, bi-cameral membership and staff of the Congressional Travel and Tourism Caucus.

Developed strategic relationships with the leadership and staff of the U.S. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage & Hour Division.
