Maggie brings 12+ years of experience in strategic communications with proven skills in media relations, crisis communications, and public affairs research. Before joining Banner, she was a Director with the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) where she served as subject matter manager and spokesperson for consumer, health and wellness, and sustainability issues and led communications for the cross-sector Food Waste Reduction Alliance (FWRA). Prior to that, Maggie served in client counseling roles at global public relations agency Hill + Knowlton Strategies (H+K) where she contributed to key accounts and crisis projects across both the Corporate and Public Affairs and Crisis Practices. Clients included Target, Home Depot, Ford Motor Company and Leidos.
Maggie began her career as a production and research assistant with The McLaughlin Group, a nationally syndicated weekly public affairs television program, followed by four years with national public opinion research firm Public Opinion Strategies (POS). While at POS, she climbed the ranks from Research Assistant to Project Director, playing key roles on a number of national public affairs initiatives and political campaigns, including the 2008 McCain presidential campaign.
Maggie holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications & Media Studies from the Catholic University of America. She lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband and daughter and, in her free time, writes for the local Patch.
