George Thompson is head of the communications practice at Banner Public Affairs in Washington, D.C. where he leads numerous corporate and issues-based campaign teams.
George joined Banner in 2014 from FleishmanHillard where he spent nearly 17 years and led the Washington, D.C. office’s Public Affairs and Corporate Reputation Management divisions.
Over the course of his career, George orchestrated integrated communications campaigns for major technology and telecommunications clients, including AT&T, CGI Federal, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), CTIA-The Wireless Association, Harris Corporation, HP, Intel/McAfee, Motorola, Nortel Networks, and Oshkosh Defense.
Recently, George served as spokesperson and led a campaign in support of a cabinet-level appointee by the Trump Administration.
George has earned numerous awards and recognition for his excellence in client work and successful management of highly complex campaigns that included public affairs, reputation management and crisis communications engagements.
George has a B.A. (Political Science) from the College of Wooster in Ohio and completed his undergraduate theses on nuclear non-proliferation economics and policy.
